Position Overview

The Warehouse Associate plays a vital role in Spirit’s supply chain operations. This full-time, on-site position is responsible for efficiently managing inventory, processing orders, and maintaining a safe and organized warehouse environment. The Warehouse Associate handles a variety of tasks related to receiving, inspecting, storing, tracking and shipping microelectronics, semiconductors, and EEE components for Spirit’s customers in the aerospace and defense supply chain.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, unpack, and verify incoming shipments of electronic components and materials
  • Accurately log received items into the inventory management system
  • Pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment, ensuring accuracy and adherence to quality standards
  • Perform detailed inspections of electronic components to company, customer, and industry requirements
  • Operate warehouse equipment safely and efficiently
  • Perform work orders including, tape and reel packaging, laser marking, and value-added services
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment
  • Conduct regular inventory counts and participate in full inventory audits
  • Assist in identifying and reporting discrepancies in inventory levels
  • Follow proper handling procedures for sensitive electronic components, including ESD (electrostatic discharge) protocols
  • Collaborate with the Quality department to ensure all stored and shipped items meet required standards
  • Assist in loading and unloading delivery vehicles as needed
  • Properly label and store items according to established warehouse organization systems
  • Participate in cycle counting and inventory reconciliation processes
  • Adhere to all company policies, safety regulations, and industry standards
  • Assist in implementing process improvements to enhance warehouse efficiency
  • Communicate effectively with team members and other departments to ensure smooth operations
Requirements:
  • 2+ years of experience in warehouse operations, preferably in electronics or aerospace industries
  • High school diploma; additional education or degrees in logistics or supply chain management a plus
  • Familiarity with inventory management software and barcode scanning systems
  • Basic understanding of electronic components, AS9100 quality management system, and MIL-STD specifications preferred
  • Familiarity with ESD controls, FOD controls, and warehouse environmental and operational controls
  • Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50lbs regularly
  • Proficiency in using computers for data entry and basic record-keeping
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Basic math skills for inventory calculations
  • Understanding of safety procedures and willingness to follow procedures and policies strictly and diligently
  • Ability to stand, walk, and remain active for extended periods
  • Comfortable working in a climate-controlled warehouse environment
