Job Title: Social Media and Marketing Coordinator

Company: The Youth Nation Center

Location: Hybrid (Remote with one on-site day per week in Akron, OH)

Hours: 20 hours per week

Compensation: $15.00/hour

Position Overview

The Social Media and Marketing Coordinator will play a crucial role in shaping the online presence and community engagement of The Youth Nation Center, a dynamic and growing youth aftercare program. This position requires creativity, marketing expertise, and strong communication skills to enhance visibility and attract families to the program.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience managing social media platforms, developing websites, and creating marketing strategies. A proven portfolio of previous work is required for consideration.

Key Responsibilities

Website Development and Maintenance

  • Design, build, and maintain a visually engaging and user-friendly website for The Youth Nation Center.
  • Update the website weekly with new photos, activity highlights, and announcements.
  • Ensure the website reflects the company’s mission and maintains a professional, cohesive brand identity.

Social Media Management

  • Create and manage all social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Google).
  • Post weekly content, including photos, updates, and promotional material based on input from the Lead Teacher and other staff.
  • Engage with followers, answer inquiries, and foster an active and positive online community.

Marketing Strategy and Execution

  • Develop and implement creative marketing strategies to increase enrollment and community awareness.
  • Monitor and analyze the success of marketing campaigns, making data-driven adjustments as needed.
  • Collaborate with staff to plan and promote special events, fundraisers, and giveaways.

Communication and Outreach

  • Respond to inquiries from families via social media, email, or website forms.
  • Coordinate with the Lead Teacher to schedule tours for prospective families.
  • Send email notifications to staff regarding new inquiries and tour requests.

On-Site Content Creation

  • Spend one day per week on-site to capture high-quality photos and videos of classroom activities.
  • Collaborate with teachers to gather engaging content for social media and the website.
  • Spend two hours in the classroom each week updating content and staying involved with program activities.

Team Collaboration

  • Attend all staff meetings (in-person or virtual) to align on program goals and marketing efforts.
  • Work closely with the Lead Teacher and other staff to ensure cohesive communication and brand representation.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in social media management, website development, and digital marketing (portfolio required).
  • Proficiency in platforms such as Facebook, Google, and website content management systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Creative and detail-oriented with a passion for storytelling and brand-building.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of youth-focused programs or education is a plus.

Requirements

  • Must provide a portfolio showcasing previous social media, website, or marketing projects.
  • Ability to work 20 hours per week (3 remote days, 1 on-site day).
  • Attendance at all staff meetings.
  • Reliable internet connection and personal equipment for remote work.
