The Maternity Suite at Cambridge Hospital is a beautiful unit with lovely views of downtown Boston and Harvard Square. It includes a Labor and Delivery (L&D) Unit and a Postpartum Unit and helps more than 1,100 growing families every year. The 7 bed labor unit has 3 triage bays and 2 ORs. We are proud of our multidisciplinary patient care, our culturally sensitive approach to labor and delivery, and some of the lowest C-section rates in Massachusetts. The Post Partum Unit consists of 12 private rooms with a level 1b continuing care nursery. This unit provides care for mothers and infants right after birth and through the early stages of postpartum to discharge. We foster a culturally sensitive approach to couplet care and early family bonding.
The Patient Access Representative II (PAR II) position consists of both administrative/clerical functions in addition to the clinical responsibilities of a medical assistant. PAR IIs are essential members by providing the flexibility of meeting both clinical and administrative needs, while contributing to the smooth operation of the facility by facilitating patient flow. Responsibilities include: Completes patient registration according to established protocols. Verifies patient insurance eligibility using Passport. Schedules patient appointments, both new and follow-up, within an appropriate time frame. Creates prescription refill encounters and routes to central pharmacy. Pre-visit chart medical record preparation and information gathering to optimize the visit. Other duties as required.
Qualifications/Requirements:
High School Diploma
AHA or ARC BLS Healthcare Provider
Knowledge of a second language is preferred.
One year of previous experience as a nursing assistant or medical assistant OR currently enrolled in a nursing program and have completed two cycles of clinical rotation OR completion of an approved certified nursing assistant training program OR equivalent experience as determined by the CNO or designee
