Lion Country Safari is looking for a Full Time Groundskeeper who has a positive attitude, excellent work ethic, works well in a team, and takes pride in their work!

The primary job functions of this position will include: installation and maintenance of seasonal flowerbeds, general landscaping maintenance, performing manual labor, and related duties; installs sod, trees and various other plants; operates a variety of commercial mowers and small engine hand tools; works in inclement weather.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Clean and remove trash
• Maintenance and trimming of trees and ornamental plants
• Mowing of all grounds
• Maintain a polite, friendly demeanor with all guest and staff
• Familiarity with emergency and safety procedures
• Must possess a good work ethic and make every effort to be at work, on time, and be a team player
• Develop proficiency and adhere to all LCS standard operating procedures and policies at all times
• Other duties as assigned by management or leads

ABOUT LION COUNTRY SAFARI

Lion Country Safari opened in 1967 and was developed with the goal of bringing the African safari experience (then, and now, an expensive and time-consuming trip) to families who would otherwise not be able to experience this type of adventure. The park prides itself on caring for large social groups of animals (including some of the largest herds of zebra, giraffe, and rhino on record in North America) in wide open, natural habitats. The animals roam these multi-acre preserves while guests are confined to their vehicles. The resulting experience is immersive and allows for a very natural environment for guests to see and connect with some of the world's most iconic species. DFWP/EOE

• Must have valid Florida driver’s license
• Must have knowledge of basic landscaping equipment
• Minimum 1-year experience
• Heavy equipment experience preferred
• Irrigation experience preferred
• Ability to work independently without constant supervision
• Maintain a professional appearance and interact positively with all guests
• Able to bend, flex, stand, and walk for extended periods of time
• Lift at least 80 lbs
• Must be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions, including heat and rain
• All applicants must work weekends and holidays
• Reliable transportation
