We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Permanent Commercial Fire Alarm Technician to join our dynamic team in the Engineering industry. This role will involve working with cutting-edge fire alarm systems, ensuring the safety and security of our commercial clients. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in fire alarm systems, including experience with notifier, inspections, est3, and Silent Knight, and will be NICET certified. This is a fantastic opportunity to apply your technical skills and expertise in a challenging and rewarding environment.
Responsibilities:
1. Install, repair, and maintain commercial fire alarm systems, ensuring they are in optimal working condition at all times.
2. Conduct regular inspections and tests of fire alarm systems to verify their functionality and compliance with safety standards.
3. Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues related to fire alarm systems, including hardware and software problems.
4. Work closely with the engineering team to design and implement effective fire alarm solutions for our commercial clients.
5. Provide technical support and guidance to clients, helping them understand and operate their fire alarm systems effectively.
6. Stay up-to-date with the latest fire alarm technologies and industry trends, and apply this knowledge to your work.
7. Respond to emergency call-outs, providing fast and efficient repair services to minimize downtime.
8. Prepare and present detailed reports on the status of fire alarm systems, including any issues identified and actions taken.
Qualifications:
1. A minimum of 3 years of experience working as a Fire Alarm Technician or in a similar role in the Engineering industry.
2. Proficiency in working with fire alarm systems, including notifier, inspections, est3, and Silent Knight.
3. NICET certification is a must.
4. Strong technical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and repair complex fire alarm systems.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical information to non-technical clients.
6. A strong understanding of safety standards and regulations related to fire alarm systems.
7. Ability to work under pressure and respond to emergency situations effectively.
8. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
9. Good physical fitness, as this role may involve heavy lifting and working at heights.
10. A valid driver's license and a clean driving record, as this role may involve travel to client sites.
