Business Analyst Intern - Product Implementation - R2987-6334 at Blue Cross of Idaho in Meridian, Idaho, United States Job Description Blue Cross of Idaho is seeking a Business Analyst Intern (BA) to join our Product Implementation team for Summer 2025, which is generally a May-August timeframe. This opportunity will allow an intern to gain an understanding of business analysis, product implementation, and the health insurance industry. This paid internship will be located onsite at our corporate headquarters in Meridian, Idaho and may have some opportunity for hybrid work. Estimated hours per week: 40 hours/week. What we are looking for in an intern: Currently enrolled in a college or university, preferably a junior or senior standing students Analytical - ability to report, analyze and, make observations about data/processes Organization - ability to multi-task and manage time with multiple priorities Inquisitiveness - not afraid to ask questions or attempt to figure things out. Able to research and work cross-departmentally to fact find and document Communications - verbal and written skills suitable to a business environment. Interpersonal skills will be important as gathering requirements and process mapping involves uncovering known and unknown details from our business partners. The BA may need to add direction and support in helping the business better understand requests Negotiation - requirements gathering may involve negotiation to reconcile technical options with the business need Independence - can work under moderate supervision; is self-motivated Strategic thinking and business acumen MS Office (Outlook, Excel, and Word); familiarity with Visio is helpful User Acceptance Testing (UAT) experience is helpful in this role, and preferred What you will learn on this internship: Assist in gathering requirements and workflows, likely in a facilitator and scribe structure, with intent to allow one person to focus on ensuring the written requirements and documentation is clear while the other person focuses on the conversation. Verify requirements and workflows by regularly working through the BA documentation to ensure all the necessary elements are captured. Essentially, proofreading for Business Analysis documentation. Monitor for new and changing requirements by attending meetings with business partners in effort to take notes and report back to collaborate with the project/product core team. By listening for statements that contradict existing requirements or statements that represent a new need, this may lead to new and/or updated requirements. Assist with product User Acceptance Testing (UAT). Gather valid test scripts from global business partners, create work streams in Jira, etc. UAT is critical for optimal quality outcomes, and in our industry this directly impacts our members.
