As a Superyacht Refinisher/Painter you will play a crucial role in ensuring the aesthetic appeal and structural integrity of luxury superyachts. You will be responsible for executing precise refinishing and painting work, adhering to the highest industry standards, and meeting client expectations for superior quality and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Surface Preparation:

  • Prepare yacht surfaces by sanding, cleaning, and filling imperfections to ensure a smooth and even finish.
  • Mask and tape off areas not to be painted, including delicate surfaces and equipment.

2. Paint Application:

  • Apply primers, basecoats, and topcoats using various painting techniques, including spray guns, brushes, and rollers.
  • Mix and match paint colours to achieve desired finishes.
  • Ensure even coverage and consistent quality throughout the project.

3. Quality Assurance 

  • Inspect completed work for flaws, blemishes, or imperfections, and make necessary touch-ups or corrections.
  • Verify that paint meets the specifications provided by the client.

4. Material Management

  • Manage and maintain an inventory of paint, solvents, and supplies.
  • Order and restock materials as needed to keep projects on schedule.

5. Safety and Compliance 

  • Adhere to all safety protocols and industry regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Properly dispose of hazardous materials and waste in accordance with environmental regulations.

6. Team Collaboration 

  • Work closely with other yacht maintenance and refit professionals, such as carpenters, electricians, and engineers, to coordinate and execute projects effectively.

7. Client Interaction

  • Interact with clients to understand their specific refinishing requirements and provide updates on project progress.
  • Ensure high levels of client satisfaction through clear communication and quality workmanship.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a superyacht refinisher/painter in the marine industry, with a minimum of 5 years of experience.
  • Strong knowledge of yacht painting techniques, materials, and equipment.
  • Familiarity with different types of yacht surfaces, including fiberglass, wood, and metal.
  • Excellent colour matching skills and an eye for detail.
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces, as required.
  • Proficient in the use of painting tools and equipment.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and practices in the marine industry.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Flexibility to work irregular hours and travel, as needed.
  • Relevant certifications or training in marine painting is a plus.
