This Staff Accountant Position Features:
Immediate need for staff accountant .Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Staff Accountant to join our Accounting Department. This individual will play a crucial role in managing the financial operations of two companies, primarily focusing on VREV and ACV’s cash monitoring, accounts payable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance. The Staff Accountant will work closely with the Controller to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Obtain appropriate approvals, code, and enter VREV A/P invoices; process VREV A/P checks.
Prepare and file DE542 reports to the EDD for VREV. Collect and maintain W-9 forms for new vendors.
Process monthly general ledger (G/L) entries for VREV, complete monthly closing checklists, and prepare/distribute financial statements.
Prepare, code, and enter VREV deposits.
Complete monthly bank reconciliations for VREV and ACV, including website sales.
Manage billing and periodic reconciliation to third parties for items such as parking, Jones CAM, Hudson News, Paseo, etc.
Maintain VREV general ledger accounts and reconciliation binders, including monthly income statement analysis.
Monitor and report daily ACV & VREV bank balances and outstanding items; distribute weekly cash flow statements. Upload checks to bank for Positive Pay.
Enter ACV general ledger entries in Sage, verify, and post daily POS transactions.
Book credit card fees and manage credit card chargebacks for all stores.
Process and verify asset additions and disposals for VREV.
Enter All Sheets data for all stores and input annual budgets into Sage for both companies.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in accounting, preferably in a multi-entity environment.
Strong understanding of accounts payable, general ledger maintenance, bank reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
Proficiency in Sage accounting software is a plus.
Excellent organizational and time management skills with a keen attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and collaborate within a team.
Strong communication skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
