Responsibilities: Peraton is seeking a proficient Red Hat Administrator to join our team supporting the Special Operations Forces (SOF) Information Environment (SIE) under the SITEC III EOM contract. This role is vital for maintaining the stability, security, and performance of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems supporting USSOCOM's mission. The selected candidate will work onsite at MacDill AFB, providing intermediate-level support and administration of Red Hat systems. Key Duties: Red Hat Systems Administration: Perform installation, configuration, and maintenance of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability. Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls to ensure system security and compliance with policies. Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and resolve problems in a timely manner. System Security and Compliance: Implement and enforce security policies and procedures to protect Red Hat systems from vulnerabilities and threats. Apply patches, updates, and security fixes to maintain the security posture of Red Hat systems. Conduct regular security checks and audits to ensure compliance with government and DoD regulations. Operational Support: Provide tier 2 support for Red Hat system issues, including troubleshooting technical problems and coordinating with tier 1 and tier 3 support teams as needed. Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, standard operating procedures, and incident response plans. Assist in the development and execution of disaster recovery and business continuity plans for Red Hat systems. Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with network engineers, system administrators, cybersecurity teams, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration and operation of Red Hat technologies. Participate in regular meetings, briefings, and discussions with USSOCOM leadership and other stakeholders to provide updates on system status and project progress. Qualifications: Required Qualifications: Security Clearance: Active TS clearance or above is required. Education and Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in systems administration with at least 2 years focused on Red Hat technologies with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; 3 years experience with MS/MA; 0 years experience with PhD. 4 years of equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Technical Skills: Hands-on experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems administration. Familiarity with using Red Hat Satellite, Ansible, and other automation tools for configuration management and system provisioning. Strong understanding of Linux system administration, including user management, networking, and security. Basic understanding of virtualization technologies such as KVM and VMware.
