Senior Tax Accountant

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Tax Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. This role is responsible for managing key tax compliance and reporting functions, ensuring adherence to state and federal regulations, and collaborating with external tax consultants. The ideal candidate will have experience in tax provisions, state sales tax filings, property tax compliance, and exposure to advanced corporate tax structures such as Up-C and Tax Receivable Agreements (TRA).

Senior Tax Key Responsibilities

• Tax Provisions: Prepare and review tax provisions in accordance with ASC 740 for financial reporting purposes.
• State Sales Tax Compliance:
• Review and ensure accurate filing of state sales tax returns.
• Obtain and maintain exemption certificates as required.
• Property Tax Management:
• Oversee property tax compliance, including assessment reviews and dispute resolution.
• Ensure timely filing and payment of property taxes.
• Use of External Consultants:
• Act as a liaison with outside tax advisors, reviewing their work and providing necessary internal support.
• Tax Planning & Strategy:
• Support tax planning initiatives, including process improvements and tax-saving strategies.
• Assist in analyzing tax impacts of business transactions.

Preferred Experience - Senior Tax Accountant:

• Experience with an Up-C Structure:

• Understanding of how this tax-efficient structure benefits pre-IPO partnerships accessing public capital markets.
• Familiarity with related compliance and reporting requirements.
• Tax Receivable Agreement (TRA) Exposure:
• Experience with TRAs, particularly in pre-IPO or large corporate environments.
• Understanding of how pre-IPO owners benefit from shared tax savings.

• CPA or progress toward certification preferred.
• 4+ years of corporate tax experience, preferably in public accounting or a large corporate environment.
• Strong knowledge of tax accounting principles, GAAP,
