Senior Staff Accountant

LHH Recruitment Solutions is working with a Non-Profit Foundation to fill a Senior Staff Accountant position in New York, NY. This role is a newly created role due to growth, and will be joining a team of approximately 10. Daily Responsibilities:

• Performing general ledger account reconciliation

• Preparing and posting journal entries 

• Managing month end close process and financial statement preparation; Must have previous experience managing the month-end close

• Assisting with audit schedules and preparing for annual audit 

• Performing balance sheet reconciliation

• Performing expense analysis, preparing allocations, and recommending cost saving initiatives where applicable 

• Preparing reports and dashboards in Power BI and Tableau

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance is mandatory

Experience Requirements:

• 3+ years of general accounting experience 

• Strong Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, vlookups)

• Experience with Tableau or Power BI

Employment Type:

• Temporary with strong potential to evolve into permanent

Schedule:

• 40 hour work week, schedule is flexible. Candidate can choose between a 9 - 6, 8 - 5, 7:30 - 3:30, etc.

• Will require 4 days per week in the office and 1 day remote per week
