Job Purpose

The Senior Specific Product Specialist provides GIS support to DPW, specializing in the use of ArcGIS Pro for mapping, data analysis, and automation. The role involves managing GIS data, performing spatial analysis, creating geospatial models, and automating repetitive tasks through scripting. The specialist also supports regional planning projects, integrates data from various formats, and ensures that GIS data meets the required accuracy and compliance standards.

Duties and Responsibilities

The job duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

• Spatial data management and data analysis.
• GIS application customization and automation of multiple consecutive existing application process steps.
• Map, graphic, and report preparation.
• Technical application support to PW users of desktop GIS software and data.
• Web map scripting.
• Data integration.
• User request processing
• GIS data management including GIS management and support services working in a team environment on specific GIS data layers, map products, applications and scripts to address customer needs.
• Ability to manage complex GIS projects and data migration tasks.
• Capability to enhance GIS system performance and implement best practices.
• Ability to stay current with emerging GIS technologies and industry trends.
• Providing regular status reports to management summarizing progress, challenges, metrics, and recommendations.
• Collaborating with team members to ensure effective communication and coordination.
• Assisting in the development of new initiatives.
• Carry out special tasks at Management's direction.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Education & Experience:

• Bachelors degree in Geography, Urban Planning, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• Certificate in Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
• Minimum of 3 years of experience using ArcGIS Pro and 2 years of experience scripting GIS processes.
