Title: Senior Power BI Developer Location: Houston, TX 77056 (Hybrid: 3 days onsite / 2 days remote) Duration: Long Term Contract Work Requirements: US Citizen, GC Holders or Authorized to Work in the U.S. Job Description: We are seeking a Senior Power BI Developer to build and maintain BI and analytics solutions that transform data into knowledge. A Power BI developer is someone well-versed in the Power BI platform. A Power BI developer is in charge of creating and managing BI tools and has a thorough understanding of the BI system. A Power BI developer's primary responsibility is to transform raw data into relevant insights via interactive and simple-to-understand dashboards and reports. Because of his strategic, executive, and management roles and duties, a Power BI developer is critical to the firm. Power BI Responsibilities Recognize business requirements in the context of BI and create data models to transform raw data into relevant insights. Convert business needs into technical specifications and establish a timetable for job completion Using Power BI, create reports and dashboards. Create and maintain data assets within the Power BI platform such as datasets, dataflows, and datamarts. Analyze and display data in reports to aid decision-making. Make adjustments to existing reports and data assets to improve their performance. Analyze current ETL procedures to optimize workflows. Power BI Requirements & Skills MUST HAVE: 8+ years experience working with Power BI development Executed at least 3 end-to-end Power BI projects, including stakeholder engagement, requirements gathering, data sourcing and validation, data modeling, development, testing, and maintenance. Deep understanding of the Power BI platform, specially the Power BI Service. Experience with Premium Capacity is a plus. Power Query: should be able to use the Power Query interface and M language to create queries, datasets, dataflows, and datamarts. Strong proficiency is a must. DAX: should be capable of scripting DAX at an intermediate level. Knowledge of the following formulas is necessary: Calculate, Filter, All, and Time Intelligence formulas. SQL scripting proficiency for pulling data from a data source is a must. NICE TO HAVE: Understanding of data visualization theory and fundamentals is a plus. Understanding of Fabric is a plus.
