SENIOR PARK AND RECREATION SPECIALIST – SONOMA MENDOCINO DISTRICT / MACKERRICHER STATE PARK
The reporting location for this position is MacKerricher State Park in Fort Bragg, CA. This position will work under the direction of the District Superintendent II.
This position is responsible for managing the Visitor Services Program covering the Volunteers In Parks Program, kiosk staff, special event and film permits, reservations and point of sale systems, concessions, cooperating associations, and the Interpretation and Education Program. This position is responsible for the critical review and high-level analysis of a wide variety of complex operational issues, as well as managing a diverse group of staff engaged in planning, developing, and implementing park and recreation programs and projects, and performs major administrative duties. The incumbent will work directly with the district, headquarters, and the Partnership Office Staff with a high degree of independence in meeting their responsibilities. The incumbent will have knowledge of general principles and techniques of research and statistical analysis; general concepts and principles of ecology, land use, conservation, and planning, particularly as they related to district programs and operations. Frequent travel throughout the district, including overnight stays is necessary.

The selected candidate is required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan fingerprinting prior to appointment.
This position is designated as telework eligible office centered.

Attentive to the needs of the public, enthusiastic, and highly motivated. Frequent travel of 5 hours round trip and occasionally overnight stays is required. Periodically travel statewide to meet district and departmental program needs.
