Job Description

P3Hired is working with their DMV area Custom Residential Design-Build client who is seeking a dynamic Project Designer to join their talented and collaborative team. This role requires creativity, technical expertise, and a client-centered approach to deliver high-quality design solutions. The position involves a hybrid work arrangement and requires reliable transportation for site visits.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management:

  • Oversee and manage multiple design projects from inception to completion.
  • Ensure timely and budget-conscious delivery of project milestones.
  • Support secondary projects as needed.

Design & Technical Coordination:

  • Conduct architectural tasks including existing condition analysis, schematic design, design development, and construction documentation.
  • Manage interior design aspects including finish selections, color schemes, and sketching.
  • Oversee cabinet ordering, quality control, and installation.
  • Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and structural teams.

Client Relations & Collaboration:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and vendors.
  • Actively participate in collaborative team efforts and continuous professional development.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture or interior design preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of Residential Interior Design or Residential Architecture experience.
  • Proficiency in Chief Architect, Revit LT, Smartsheet, and DesignFiles.
  • Experience in zoning, code analysis, material selections, specifications, and permitting processes.
  • Knowledge of and strong connections with local vendors and material suppliers.
  • Proficient experience with space planning, FF&E specifications, material selections, and codes.
  • Experience in construction administration for residential and light commercial projects.
  • Experience with cabinetry ordering, installation management, and troubleshooting.
  • NCARB, NCIDQ, CKBD certifications are a plus.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective presentation and public speaking abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and quick to learn new software.

Pay range and compensation package

The targeted salary range for this full-time role with benefits is $90,000 - $110,000, commensurate with experience.
