Job Description
The Relief Houseparent performs the duties associated with providing for the day-to-day safety and welfare of the children. The Relief Houseparent provides for the safety and welfare of the children by providing a family style environment. The Relief Parent may purchase and prepare meals as directed by the Primary Parent. The Relief Parent assists in maintaining the child's seasonal wardrobe and alerts the Primary Parents to clothing needs for the child. The Relief Parent ensures that the daily schedule established to meet the child's needs for adequate rest, physical activity and social interaction is followed.
*Sign-on Bonus Available* - $5,000 (restrictions apply - $2,000 after 90 days; $3,000 after 6 months)
Positions Available: Full-time (Paradise, PA)
Required Attributes: Special note: Relief Parents are married couples employed as a couple although payment and benefits are allocated to each individual separately. If one member of the Relief Parent couple resigns or is terminated from their position, the spouse's position will automatically and concurrently terminate. Must be at least 21 years of age. High School diploma or general education degree (GED) and two years related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Bachelor's Degree preferred. Must be able to successfully complete an intensive pre-service training workshop including cardiopulmonary resuscitation, medication management and de-escalation training. Must have a current Pennsylvania driver's license. Individual must be insurable by Christ's Home insurance carrier. Ability to maintain and apply required annual certification. Relief Houseparents must have proper clearances (FBI, State and Child Abuse clearances) as required by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for employment with children. Relief Parents must be able to pass their bi-annual health certification and maintain approved clearances as required by the Department of Public Welfare, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
