At The Outdoor School (TOS) students are able to experience their natural environment in a fun and educational setting. We offer a variety of programming for visiting schools to choose from including Teambuilding, Reptiles, Water Quality, Kayaking, High Ropes Courses, Archery, Outdoor Survival, Art in Nature, and many more!
A team of 3-4 Program Coordinators will work together closely with the support of 3 full-time Directors to plan, schedule, and facilitate outdoor education programming. The Program Coordinators’ responsibilities include but are not limited to acting as the on-call director of the day, managing and mentoring instructors, observing and evaluating instructors, liaising with teachers and school staff leading up to and during their visit, creating a master schedule of staff and activities, and of course working outdoors with students.
Program Coordinators have the opportunity to specialize in an area of interest (such as social media, personnel, challenge course, curriculum, garden and farm, or another area of interest) to learn more and gain extensive hands-on experience.
TOS is located in the beautiful Texas Hill Country with direct waterfront access to Lake LBJ, and just about an hour away from Austin. Compensation includes housing, meals during program, and up to $425/week . Program Coordinators start training in August and will work through the fall and spring seasons until late-May with a break in December.
