Job Description
Iron Mechanical is seeking a Pre-Fabrication Shop Apprentice to join our ever-growing team in Sacramento. This is a full time, Monday - Friday position with potential overtime. The ideal candidate is looking to partner with an apprenticeship program such as the Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors' (PHCC) or the Air Conditioning Trade Association (ACTA) and to transition from our Pre-Fabrication Shop to the field to work in a commercial construction environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Complete tasks including but not limited to: fabrication, staging, and transportation of inventory.
• Follow diagrams and specifications to fabricate work pieces.
• Load and unload materials to and from designated storage area, such as racks, shelves, or vehicles. This entails frequent holding and grasping with the hands when loading and unloading said products.
• Install protective devices including bracing, padding, or strapping, to prevent shifting or damage to inventory being transported.
• Maintain condition of work area (keep area clean, organized, etc.).
• Follow safety policies and procedures and encourage other associates to do the same.
• Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements
• Diligent attention to safety and detail
• Maintain a neat appearance consistent with the construction industry
• Reliable and hard-working; willing to learn
• Frequent lifting up to 50 lbs
• Able to work in an environment with exposure to loud noise, dust, gas, and/or fumes
