Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled PLC Programmer specialising in Allen Bradley or Siemens systems to join our dynamic team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development and optimisation of advanced automation systems within the automotive and industrial automation sectors. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in PLC programming, a deep understanding of automation processes, and hands-on experience in the automotive industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and implement PLC programs for automated systems, with a focus on Allen Bradley and Siemens platforms.
  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and optimise PLC-controlled systems in an industrial or automotive environment.
  • Collaborate with engineers and technicians to ensure seamless integration of automation systems into production lines.
  • Provide technical support and training to plant operators and maintenance teams.
  • Conduct system testing, diagnostics, and modifications to improve process efficiency and reliability.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and best practices.
  • Assist in the development of control systems for robotics, conveyors, and other automation equipment.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Proven expertise in programming Allen Bradley (Logix 5000, Studio 5000) and Siemens PLCs (S7-1200, S7-1500, TIA Portal).
  • Strong background in industrial automation, particularly within the automotive sector.
  • Experience with SCADA systems, HMI development, and network configurations.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Familiarity with industrial protocols (Ethernet/IP, Profibus, Profinet).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to continuous improvement.
  • A degree or relevant certification in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or a related field is desirable.
