Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for ensuring proper flows, temperatures, pressures, and levels.
  • Recognizes operating deviations and takes appropriate corrective action.
  • Recognizes equipment abnormalities.
  • Communicates with maintenance regarding significant repairs.
  • Responsible for recording parameter values, completion of operating reports, notification of environmental deviations, and equipment lockout/tag-out for maintenance and repair.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with PSM regulations.
  • Operates plant facilities' various equipment/systems, including but not limited to: Cryogenic plant processing, hydrocarbon fractionation units, process controls and measurement, engines and compressors, pumps, pressure relief system, instrument air system, dehydrators, fuel system, treating, emergency shutdown systems, reciprocating compressors, gas fired heaters, process pumps, amine treating systems, inlet gas receivers and NGL storage and transfer facilities.
  • Operates company radio, performs lab tests for quality assurance, diagnoses mechanical problems, makes minor repairs as needed, assists other crafts personnel and other tasks as assigned.
  • Seeks to optimize processing though facility and maintains proper product specifications.
  • Responds to alarms and problems within the plant and makes the appropriate corrections.
  • Performs lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Responsibilities also include SPCC reporting, prevention and reporting of any spills and monitoring environmental compliance.
  • Maintains and adheres to required company training, policies, and procedures.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Must have moderate to advanced computer skills including spreadsheet and word processing applications.
  • Experience working with pressure vessels and equipment.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 years or more general experience in the oil/gas industry.
  • 1 years’ operating experience in the oil/gas industry.
  • Experience in a cryogenics or processing plant.
  • Experience in operating process with DCS control preferably Delta V or Wonderware
  • Experience working with pressure vessels and equipment.
  • Basic computer skills and mechanical aptitude.
  • Shift work: routinely work holidays/weekends that occur during the shift.

Travel :

Travel required locally or long-distance up to 20% of the time for work-related meetings and functions.

Equipment:

Computer, computer software programs and peripherals, resource materials and equipment, copier, fax, and other equipment applicable to the position.

Regularly required to walk, stand, crawl, climb stairs and bend; use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms over shoulder height; and talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Frequent pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling, bending, balance, depth perception, repetitive arm/hand movements, eye-hand-foot coordination, manual dexterity (eye/hand coordination) finger dexterity, vision acuity (far/near) and hearing acuity. May be required to climb ladders and/or stairs more than 50 ft. and work in confined spaces. Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs. maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 lbs.

May be required to spend 50% or greater of time in an outdoor setting. Will be required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Maintain emotional control under stress, work with interruptions and deadlines.

May work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Environmental Factors

May be exposed to biological hazards (communicable diseases, bacteria, insects, mold, fungi, etc.). Will work in or around industrial and construction settings, which may include working with chemicals, hazardous products, processes, and materials. Exposure to loud machinery, moving mechanical parts and adverse weather conditions. Gaseous risk exposure and occasional dangerous driving conditions. Will work with petroleum products under high pressure and in extreme temperatures, both hot and cold.
