The Patient Transporter transfers patients to and from various areas of the assigned facilities while providing exceptional customer service. Additionally, the Patient Transporter engages in efforts to improve patient satisfaction, clinical outcomes, and operational efficiency, and ensures all required policies and procedures are complied with. Core job functions include retrieving medical records, laboratory results, supplies, and medications; notifying nursing staff when patient is leaving and returning to the unit; ensuring patient’s chart is alongside during transport; completing transports within assigned time parameters; collecting and delivering specimens and blood products; checking oxygen cylinders prior to transport; accurately checking in and out of the patient transport system; performing supply restocking; cleaning and disinfecting patient care equipment; adhering to University and unit-level policies and safeguarding University assets. Education required is a High School diploma or equivalent. No experience required. Skills include attention to detail, ability to prioritize work under pressure, discretion with confidential information, ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends, commitment to University’s core values, ability to work independently or collaboratively, proficiency in computer software, ability to operate a motor vehicle, and a valid State of Florida driver’s license.
