Role Overview: As an Over-the-Phone Interpreter (OPI) at Silvconnect, you will provide consecutive interpretation services between Brazilian Portuguese and English speakers. This role involves facilitating clear and accurate communication across various industries, including healthcare, legal, business, and government sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Interpretation Services: Provide accurate consecutive interpretation during live phone conversations between Brazilian Portuguese and English speakers, ensuring clarity and understanding.
• Professionalism: Uphold confidentiality and neutrality, adhering to ethical guidelines and industry standards.
• Adaptability: Interpret across diverse topics and industries, requiring quick adaptation to different subject matter and terminology.
• Cultural Sensitivity: Convey cultural nuances to ensure messages are understood as intended.
• Continuous Improvement: Engage in ongoing training to expand vocabulary and knowledge of subject matter relevant to various clients.

Qualifications:

• Language Proficiency: Native or near-native fluency in both Brazilian Portuguese and English (spoken).
• Experience: A minimum of 6 months of previous interpretation experience is preferred.
• Certification: Formal training or certification in interpretation is a plus but not required.
• Technical Skills: Ability to use multiple software and phone systems simultaneously.
• Work Environment: A quiet, dedicated workspace suitable for phone-based interpretation.
• Availability: Willingness to work flexible hours, including on-call shifts as needed.
