AUSTIN, TX (NATIONWIDE SEARCH) - Active and kind family in the Barton Creek area is seeking a FULL-TIME LONG-TERM NANNY to grow with the family and their sweet 10-year-old daughter for years to come. The daughter has Down syndrome and has been diagnosed with autism with developmental delays and the family is looking for an experienced and active nanny to provide amazing care. The perfect candidate is kind, but firm, patient, fun, and willing to be active with the daughter.
The hours are roughly Monday/Wednesday/Friday 3 pm - 7 pm, and Tuesday/Thursday 3 pm - 10 pm. Candidates should be open and willing to work 2 weekends a month with flexibility for overnights to allow the parents to travel. A willingness to travel with the family is a huge bonus. They have a home in Colorado and enjoy being on the lake and would love a candidate who is open to being active on the ski slopes and in the lake with their daughter and family. Private accommodations are provided in Colorado and in the family home for overnights. The family will guarantee full-time pay.
This family has traditional Christian Values and is seeking a candidate who is comfortable with and aligns with the family values. Candidates will receive priority if they have a background in ABA therapy and are open to working with their provider team to deliver the best care and support in the home. Other duties include taking her to therapy, sitting in as a support during therapy sessions to learn, and being proactive and open to guidance and feedback. The current ABA therapist comes to the home 2 days a week. It is important to note the daughter has speech delays and can be challenging to understand. The family uses simple sign language to communicate with her as needed.
The daughter can be challenging on occasion and needs someone who can be loving but firm and can take situations and make them fun. Guidance with academics, helping her work toward growth and developmental milestones, and assisting her in learning letters and numbers are important aspects of the role. They are seeking a nanny who can help keep her active, take her swimming in the family pool or the lake, take her on walks, and ensure she stays moving. She loves the trampoline and is actively learning to swim independently! Other duties include doing her laundry, picking up after the daughter throughout the home, keeping her room organized, and leaving the kitchen and other spaces better than you found them each day. She is considered a messy eater and the family would like the candidate to clean and put away her dishes and counters after she eats. The daughter will need some bathroom support as she is working toward being fully potty trained.
Candidates should be comfortable driving their daughter and picking her up from school. They prefer candidates to use their own vehicle, as long as it is safe and reliable. The family will be reimbursed for mileage at the Federal Mileage Reimbursement rate. The family has 2 grown sons who are around the home on occasion but need no care.
This family has no vaccine preference at this time. Benefits include PTO + Sick Days + possible health insurance stipend + potential relocation for the perfect candidate. Start date is ASAP. Pay is $30-40/hr gross via payroll commensurate based on experience.
