Overview

**This is a Remote position. Candidates must reside in CA.**

Schedule: Monday - Friday 20 hours/week

Purpose Statement/Position Summary: The Medical Coder, Outpatient provides coding and pre-defined abstracting services following mandated Federal and State Regulations, The Joint Commission, CHLA Medical Staff Rules and Regulations, Division specific coding guidelines, and hospital policies and procedures. Participates in providing quality coded data for outcomes, peer review, reimbursement, research, marketing and development. Performs as a mentor to non-credentialed coding staff. The coding team is responsible for coding Emergency Dept, Series Calendar Month and Outpatient Clinic accounts within 5 days of visit.

Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience: 2+ years as a Medical Coder, preferably with Pediatric Coding experience and/or coding experience in a large teaching hospital. Demonstrated proficiency in ICD 10 / CPT assignments.

Education/Licensure/Certification: High School Diploma, GED or equivalent. CCS or CPC credential and CEUs to maintain required.


Pay Scale Information

$55,120.00-$95,202.00

The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates that meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this specific job description.
