The Medical Assistant functions as an important member of the healthcare team by providing basic clinical, clerical, and technical support to assist providers in planning for patients’ care, comfort, and safety. The Medical Assistant performs in a manner consistent with Marshfield Clinic’s mission, policies, and initiatives while maintaining patient confidentiality at all times. Work shift is Monday 6:45 am - 5:00 pm; Tuesday 6:45 am - 8:00 pm; Wednesday 6:45 am - 5:00 pm; and Thursday 6:45 am - 2:30 pm (4 days per week). Minimum qualifications include graduation from a Medical Assistant program or documented completion of required courses in Medical Terminology, Anatomy & Physiology, and Pharmacology, or two years of related work experience with course completion within 12 months from hire. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by the American Heart Association (AHA) is required within three months of hire. Alternatively, Certified Medical Assistant candidates must have a Medical Assistant program graduation or Licensed Practical Nurse diploma, with no minimum experience required. Certifications required include BLS and one of several medical assistant certifications or licenses. The position requires adherence to Marshfield Clinic Health System’s mission and policies, maintaining patient confidentiality, and compliance with federal program participation rules.
