The Maintenance Supervisor leads, manages, holds accountable and coordinates overall plant maintenance operations as directed by senior level management. This position is responsible for anticipating and meeting the Ellsworth Cooperative Creamery’s evolving needs and objectives for maintenance support. The Maintenance Supervisor is a key member of the team and provides leadership to employees by fostering an environment of trust and open communications, developing future talent, and ensuring achievement of safety, food safety, and quality. This role ensures all facets of maintenance are completed including necessary record keeping and reporting. Role is expected to function within maintenance budget guidelines.
Requirements:The list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management deem necessary.
1. Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards including but not limited to: Human resources, Good Manufacturing Processes, Occupational Safety and Health Administration, Food and Drug Administration, Wisconsin Department of Agriculture Trade and Consumer protection, Safe Quality Food, and the United States Department of Agriculture.
2. With the aim of achieving high performance, build a positive, team-oriented work culture and environment where continuous improvement, innovative and positive thinking, teamwork, positive behaviors, safety and security are natural outcomes.
3. Develop required skills and knowledge to a level of depth appropriate to keep production as highly functional as needed to meet organizational goals and objectives.
4. Understand and manage budgets within the maintenance department.
5. Plan, assign and direct the work of subordinate staff for the achievement of maintenance operation goals and objectives.
6. Assist in the development and implementation of processes and policies within maintenance.
7. Manage Inventory, Purchase Orders, Reporting or any other needs within the CMMS software.
8. Prioritize and complete requested work orders that are submitted to CMMS software daily.
9. Foster communication between all Ellsworth cooperative facilities.
10. Maintain appearance of the facility grounds including lawnmowing, snowplowing, landscaping and waste removal.
11. Using CMMS software, control the Preventative Maintenance program and ensure that all machines are properly inspected and running optimally. PM optimization.
12. Assist in breakdowns and emergency repairs.
13. Provide ongoing communication of maintenance performance to executive management detailing issues, successes and challenges.
14. Lead, coach and mentor direct reports in alignment with business objectives and required staff development while promoting teamwork and cohesiveness.
15. Evaluate and appraise employees’ performance and follow-up with proper documentation.
16. Proficient in or seek to become proficient in Welding, Installation, PLC, Electrical – 3 phrase, Pneumatic, Steam/ boilers, Ammonia refrigeration and HVAC.
17. Administer and document disciplinary procedures, both verbal and written, when necessary.
18. Role will be aligned to a “regular” shift but must be available on an “on-call” or as needed basis for urgent or emergency issues.
19. Promote a safe, secure, and positive work environment for all employees.
20. Responsible for food safety.
21. Other duties as appropriate or assigned.
