Job Description

A private, professional family of four in Shreveport, Louisiana, is looking to hire a Live-in Domestic Couple for their 13,000 square foot residence that sits on 30 acres. Property Manager/Handyman Role: Oversee the maintenance and care of private residence, surrounding acreage, and additional properties (a small shopping complex and a rental home). The ideal candidate will be highly trustworthy, reliable, and detail-oriented, with a strong work ethic and excellent communication skills. Key Responsibilities :

  • Perform daily walk-throughs and inspections of the estate, ensuring all areas are well-maintained, secure, and operational.
  • Conduct general property maintenance for the estate, including landscaping, sprinkler systems, and outdoor upkeep.
  • Oversee and troubleshoot HVAC systems, electrical issues, pool cleaning, pumps, and general home repairs.
  • Ensure the estate remains the primary focus of the position, with consistent attention to detail and care.
  • Conduct basic weekly checks of other properties and handle one-time issues as they arise.
  • Manage contractors and vendors for specialized tasks as needed.
  • Perform routine inspections to proactively identify and address maintenance issues.
  • Handle physical labor tasks such as moving furniture, outdoor projects, and repairs.
  • Maintain an organized schedule of tasks and communicate progress effectively.
Qualifications :
  • Proven experience in property management, handyman work, or a similar role.
  • Knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical work, plumbing, sprinkler systems, and pool maintenance.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage time efficiently and prioritize tasks.
  • Physical ability to perform labor-intensive tasks.
  • High level of trustworthiness and reliability.
  • Must be comfortable undergoing a full background check and drug test.
Location : Position is based at a Shreveport, with daily checks and maintenance of the estate as the primary focus. Other properties require weekly basic checks and occasional attention for one-time issues. House Manager/Nanny role : We are looking for a responsible, caring, and experienced nanny to join our family and provide exceptional care for our 2 children, ages 5, 7. The ideal candidate will be warm, engaging, and proactive, with a genuine love for children and a commitment to their well-being and development. Candidate must also be extremely reliable and organized. Nanny Responsibilities:
  • Provide attentive, nurturing, and age-appropriate care for children
  • Plan and engage in educational and fun activities, including outdoor play, arts and crafts and story time
  • Assist with homework and encourage learning through creative methods
  • Prepare healthy snacks and meals as needed
  • Follow established routines, including nap times and meal schedules
  • Light housekeeping related to childcare (tidying play areas, children's laundry, etc.)
  • Transport children to/from school, activities, and appointments if required (reliable transportation and a valid driver's license is be needed)
  • Management of the family google calendar with updating school and extraarticular activities
While children are in school, Assisting with household management and coordination of vendors. Household Management Responsibilities :
  • Organize and tidy up: Keep common areas, kitchen, and children's rooms organized and tidy. This includes picking up toys, sorting items, and ensuring everything is in its place.
  • Light housekeeping: Perform routine cleaning tasks such as vacuuming, dusting, and wiping down surfaces to maintain a clean and welcoming environment
  • Laundry: Wash, fold, and put away family clothing and linens
  • Meal preparation: Plan and prepare meals or snacks for the children, and assist with family meal prep if requested
  • Errands and grocery shopping: Run errands, such as picking up groceries, household supplies, or other items as needed.
  • Organize children's belongings: Rotate seasonal clothing, ensure backpacks and school supplies are ready, and manage any items needed for activities or trips.
  • Household organization: Help with organizing spaces, such as closets, pantry, and storage areas, to keep things easily accessible and decluttered.
  • Manage appointments and schedules: Assist with coordinating and scheduling children's activities, doctor's appointments, and other family commitments as directed.
  • Assist with pet care: feed them, and ensure they are cared for if part of the household.
  • Oversee household supplies: Monitor and restock household essentials (cleaning supplies, toiletries) and assist with replenishing.
Requirements : Prior experience in childcare, with excellent references, references will be need to be available written with contact information.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Be willing to undergo a full background check
  • Background in child development or early education is a plus
  • Applicant must be in good health, with no medical conditions that could affect alertness, response time, or overall safety while supervising children or driving. This includes conditions that could potentially lead to sudden blackouts, fainting, or other episodes that could impact safe childcare.
  • Candidate must be physically able to climb stairs and carry items such as a laundry basket as part of daily household responsibilities.
