We are seeking a Packaging Testing Engineer 1 with a background in Packaging or Industrial Technology that conducts and supports package testing and validation. The ideal candidate will exhibit strong personal attributes and behaviors that will be instrumental for growth as a Test Engineer. This is a very hands-on active role with physical demands to support client testing. Responsibilities: The primary focus is to conduct client-requested package testing. Testing standards defined by ISTA and ASTM standards, customer requirements, and Westpak Quality Management System. Accurately conduct testing and data management to ensure accuracy and integrity. Ensure order accuracy and quality through document control, standard operating procedures, and auditing. Provide a high level of customer service for onsite testing support. Partner with customers as the Westpak “host” for onsite package testing needs. Maintain Westpak 5S and various site standards and expectations. Maintain responsive customer communication regarding testing services provided. Update customer on test status, updates, results explanation, and consultation for improvements and recommendations. Support Internal customer departments like Engineering Services with customer support or technical expertise. Responsible for duties that support the site lab operations, including but not limited to duties associated with logistics, administration, and facilities. Personal / Professional Attributes: Fast learner and ability to communicate clearly. Demonstrate strong accountability and integrity. High focus on customer service, plus be willing to go above and beyond to wow the customer. Organized and impeccable follow-through skills. Work collaboratively with colleagues. Able to create innovative solutions to complex problems. Requirements for Eligibility: B.S. Degree in Engineering, Packaging or Packaging emphasis, or equivalent technical education degree. 2-5 years of working laboratory experience in conducting product/packaging testing is preferred. Experience in packaging or product testing or related industry is ideal. Ability to read and interpret documents such as protocols, industry specifications, and procedures. Understanding packaging fundamentals. Possess a strong work ethic and a high level of professionalism. Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and general computer literacy.
