A leading agriculture company based in Salinas is seeking a Junior Financial Analyst to join their team on a direct hire basis. The Junior Financial Analyst will be responsible for forecasting, budgeting, and in-depth variance analysis. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the financial health of the business by supporting strategic planning, evaluating financial performance, and identifying areas for operational improvement.

Responsibilities (will train):

• Develop and maintain annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and long-term financial models.
• Conduct variance analysis to compare actual results to budgets and forecasts, investigating key drivers of deviation.
• Partner with operations, production, and sales teams to understand business trends and provide financial insights.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, presenting findings to senior management.
• Analyze pricing, costs, and other variables to support planning and profitability analysis.
• Track and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide actionable recommendations.
• Support cost analysis, inventory valuation, and capital expenditure planning.
• Assist with scenario modeling and sensitivity analysis to inform business strategy and risk management.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree is required.
• Minimum internship OR one year of experience in financial analysis, preferably in agriculture, manufacturing, or a related industry, but industry experience is not required.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and SQL is a must.
• Solid understanding of financial statements, forecasting techniques, and variance analysis.
• Excellent analytical thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively across departments.
