This role operates with cross functional responsibility for ensuring the organization and its clients comply with relevant laws, regulations and industry best practices, including laws, regulations and frameworks related to privacy, pharmacy, and Managed Care. Responsibilities include monitoring existing compliance practice, conducting assessments and audits, implementing corrective action plans and related training. Organizes internal communications for stakeholders of all levels including agendas, meeting minutes, and compliance monitoring results.

Candidates should have excellent interpersonal communications skills and must be able to work independently and effectively manage tasks in a fast-paced environment. Must be a team player with a positive attitude who works well in a cross-functional, matrixed environment.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement an effective healthcare compliance program grounded in 7 Elements principles, including compliance committee preparation, conducting risk assessments, and implanting corrective actions
  • Ensure adherence to laws, regulations, and industry best practices concerning privacy, pharmacy, and Managed Care.
  • Continuously monitor the organization and its clients’ compliance with applicable standards
  • Conduct regular assessments and audits of internal processes and practices to ensure compliance.
  • Identify any compliance risks or gaps and work toward mitigation strategies
  • Develop and implement corrective action plans to address any non-compliance issues.
  • Provide training to stakeholders to ensure understanding of compliance practices and regulations
  • Organize internal communications, such as preparing agendas, meeting minutes, and reports on compliance monitoring results.
  • Regularly inform stakeholders at all levels about the company's compliance status and ongoing initiatives to ensure transparency and awareness.
  • Draft, revise, and update company policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable healthcare regulations.
  • Develop and deliver training sessions for employees and clients to enhance their understanding of healthcare regulations and industry compliance standards.
  • Provide guidance and support to employees and clients by addressing any questions or concerns related to healthcare compliance.
  • Continuously monitor state and federal regulatory changes, ensuring the company remains compliant with current laws, and stay informed on emerging best practices in healthcare compliance
  • Prepare and present detailed reports on compliance matters for senior management, and as necessary, for external regulatory bodies
Requirements:

Education

Required: Bachelor’s degree (BA or BBA preferred) from an accredited college or university

Certifications

Required: Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) and/or Certified in Healthcare Privacy Compliance (CHPC)

Experience

Required: A minimum of 3 years of experience in a healthcare compliance

Preferred: Experience with pharmacy operations

Special Skills

Required: Intermediate level skills in Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); working knowledge of healthcare industry standards and healthcare laws
