Job Description
Job Summary:
Training specialist is responsible for assisting in the development and maintenance of the site-training requirements and leading in safe work practices and compliance with company policies and procedures and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
· To instruct new associates in site safety & quality training
· To refresh existing associates in site safety requirements & quality training through a continuous training schedule
· To train associates in other areas as required
· To ensure proper documentation and record keeping of all site training
· To assist in the development and maintenance of site training packages as required
· To always comply with site safety requirements and the Occupational Health and Safety Act and relevant legislation.
· Look for and recommend programs to continuously improve the site’s Health and Safety performance and programs and to reduce accidents/incidents, including wellness and ergonomics programs
· Develop and monitor the use of relevant processes such as Accident Reporting and Investigation, Hazard Analysis, Safe Work Procedures, and Safety Inspections
· Lead and execute communications strategies to heights Health and Safety awareness at all levels (including reports, statistical information, goals, performance results, etc)
· Understand work processes and operational flow, as it pertains to Health and Safety
· To perform other tasks as required in the absence of primary duties
· To advise management of health and safety concerns
Health and Safety:
· Understands and works in compliance with the Environmental and Health/Safety management systems, policies, rules, and guidelines.
· Observe standards for safe working conditions as outlined in the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
· Takes every precaution reasonable in the circumstances for the protection of a worker. Specific accountabilities for safety include, but are not limited to performing regular workplace inspections, conducting/participating in safety talks, staff meetings, actively participating in accident/incident investigations, training new employees, identifying and correcting unsafe acts or conditions, identify, correct or commend health and safety performance and conducting performance appraisals for workers’ safety performance
Job Specifications – Education, Training, Skills & Competencies:
Education & Training Requirements:
· A minimum 5 years MHE experience is required (Counterbalance, Reach and Swing Reach).
· Certified MHE trainer (Train the Trainer) or willing to complete.
