Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior IT Project Manager to lead the management and implementation of Electronic Health Records (EHR) projects. Experience with Epic and/or Cerner is necessary. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully managing large-scale IT projects in a healthcare setting, strong leadership skills, and the ability to drive projects to completion on time and within budget. This is a direct hire position based in the Southwest.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the end-to-end implementation of EHR projects, including planning, execution, monitoring, and closing phases.Collaborate with key stakeholders, including clinical staff, IT teams, and external vendors, to ensure project alignment with organizational goals and objectives.Coordinate and allocate resources effectively to ensure project milestones are met. This includes managing project teams, budgets, and timelines.Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impact. Proactively address issues as they arise.Implement and manage change management processes to ensure smooth adoption of new systems and technologies. Communicate effectively with all stakeholders to facilitate transition. Ensure that all project deliverables meet the highest quality standards and comply with regulatory requirements.
Provide regular project updates to senior leadership, including status reports, progress metrics, and performance evaluations.Vendor Management.
Key Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Healthcare Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in IT project management, with a focus on EHR implementations. Prior experience with Epic and/or Cerner is highly desirable.PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is required. Additional certifications in Epic (e.g., Epic Project Manager, Epic Application Manager) are preferred.
Strong understanding of healthcare IT systems, project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall), and change management processes.
Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex projects in a healthcare environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
