The Entertainment Technical Training Facilitator supports the operational training of the Entertainment Technical Technicians onboard and department partners for the Disney Cruise Line Fleet. They play a key role in developing short-term and life-cycle training and compliance solutions, as well as work with multiple partners from all levels of the organization to establish training and compliance processes.
Responsible for the scheduling and tracking of the on-the-job training program for new hires joining the Entertainment Technical department and returning Crew.
Responsible for the scheduling and tracking of all regulatory training, and core training classes for the fleet.
Responsible for coordinating with other lines of business to deliver Shoreside training for new hires joining the Entertainment Technical department and returning Crew.
Plan and facilitate new hire and recurring technician training in the DCL Training Lab and auxiliary training locations.
Partner with the Entertainment Technical Leadership team to support the daily operation of the Entertainment Technical Department.
Research, identify and coordinate developmental opportunities, vendor sponsored training and seminars in partnership with Entertainment Technical Training Manager.
Facilitate Entertainment Technical training sessions to small and large groups of many different backgrounds and ability levels.
Partner with Onboard Entertainment leadership for documentation (SMS and LOG) updates with appropriate Entertainment Readiness Documentation Partners.
Proven ability to train and provide feedback to all position levels within DCL Entertainment.
Ability to make decisions and project manage training and compliance items through the production process and further into daily operations.
Willingness to work a flexible schedule, which may change daily and to include holidays, nights, weekends, and ship-board travel based on fleet projects and events.
Support Digital checklist creation and maintenance for the fleet.
Support Audit Programs as directed.
Ability to drive DCL Company vehicles, including PIT’s, AWP’s and other lifts.
Responsible for keeping the shipboard Entertainment Technical team informed of outstanding and upcoming training needs to ensure that all training is up to date and in compliance with SMS, company and departmental procedures.
Partner with Shipboard Entertainment Technical leadership to provide support in implementing the Entertainment Technical Training Plan and on-the-job training aspect of the Four Keys Basics.
Provide support to Shipboard teams who deliver training to new and returning Entertainment Technical Crew.
Manage the DCL Resource Lab calendar to ensure time is reserved for the new hires joining the Entertainment Technical department and returning Crew attending training as needed.
Manage all DCL Tech Training information channels to schedule Shoreside training for the new hires joining the Entertainment Technical department and returning Crew as needed.
Partner with members of Disney University and the Entertainment Readiness Team to resolve any challenges with eLearning courses or credit assignments within DLearn.
Partner with Shoreside operations to arrange berthing and transportation for the new hires joining the Entertainment Technical department and returning Crew attending training as needed.
Comply with set policies and procedures as well as all maritime and Ship rules, regulations and procedures.
Partner with Entertainment Technical Shoreside Leadership, DCL Safety partners and the Standards and Sustainment team to ensure SMS and LOG documentation is up to date and in accordance with current safety and regulatory practices.
SMS – Partner with Shipboard and Shoreside leadership in the general safety management responsibilities of the Entertainment Technical department.
In-depth understanding of DLearn or equivalent training tracking software.
Experience with in-person training sessions and confident and competent in public speaking.
Scheduling experience.
Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to express creative ideas.
Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize, and able to meet deadlines.
Strong troubleshooting, problem solving and decision-making skills, often under pressure.
Demonstrated leadership, partnering and strategic planning skills.
Highly motivated requiring minimal direction and follow up.
Strong computer skills (Outlook, Microsoft Suite, AutoCAD).
Available and willing to work weekends, holidays and third shift, as needed.
Willingness to travel extensively on various domestic and international assignments as needed for Disney Cruise Line and related projects.
