Job Description
Insight Global is looking for an Estimating Manager to join their clients team. This manager will be leading a team of 15 estimators. Duties will consist of managing your email to triage any issues so they can be taken care of immediately. Going through your calendar to review all of the projects that need to be assigned and assigning estimators to those. Reviewing any work that has been completed to see if any edits need to be made. Also spending time working as a Psuedo Estimator to handle any high priority projects that come in. Dealing with Takeoff, Pricing and Quoting.
The Estimating Manager manages the daily activities of the estimating department, implements technical estimating standards and procedures, and oversees the work of the estimating team. Employee will review and execute bids on multiple and/or more complex projects. This position is responsible for all aspects of the estimating and bid process, from review of plans and specifications, to soliciting quotes from the manufacturers.
Position Responsibilities:
o Develop cost estimates and coordinate proposals for assigned estimating projects.
o Provide area specific forecasts and report projects status.
o Develop estimating standards, protocols, and guidelines.
o Manage estimating process from bid coordination, estimator assignments, training and bid submissions.
o Develop and maintain estimating training program to include current and future products.
o Perform as liaison between estimating team and sales team.
o Work with peers (sales, engineering, accounting, and upper management) to coordinate customer (internal and external) requirements.
o Revise estimates and implement required changes.
o Monitor and ensure bid format meets customer standards.
o Evaluate Customer Request for Bid documents.
o Identify and learn customer requirements for bid purposes.
o Coordinate bid inputs from all organizational departments.
o Participate pre and post bid meetings as required.
o Review, provide feedback and evaluate performance of Estimators.
o Responsible for the training and staffing of the estimating team.
