Job Description

Seeking experienced CMBS Loan Originator to join a full service investment banking and capital markets financial services institution operating across several states in the U.S. The firm is a leader in small-business and middle market banking and this is a strategic hire to support continued growth plans for the bank.

The ideal candidate is an experienced, high-performing Senior CMBS Loan Originator with current and recent experience operating on a reputable commercial real estate lending platform. This individual will be responsible for sourcing, structuring, and executing conduit and balance sheet loans across various commercial real estate asset classes. The ideal candidate brings a strong network of borrower and intermediary relationships, deep product expertise, and a proven track record of originating and closing loans in the CMBS market.

Responsibilities:

  • Source CMBS and transitional commercial real estate loans through a network of borrowers, mortgage brokers, and intermediaries.
  • Lead all aspects of the origination process, including underwriting, structuring, pricing, and credit presentation.
  • Coordinate closely with internal teams across underwriting, capital markets, legal, and asset management to ensure successful execution.
  • Maintain current knowledge of market trends, pricing, and capital flows to inform deal strategy and structure.
  • Support capital markets efforts by working with distribution teams to ensure alignment with securitization requirements.
  • Represent the firm at industry conferences and cultivate external relationships to generate business development opportunities
  • Mentor junior originators or analysts and contribute to broader platform strategy and growth

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 7–10 years of experience in CMBS origination or related CRE lending roles.
  • Demonstrated track record of originating and closing conduit and/or balance sheet loans across major property types.
  • Deep network of market relationships with mortgage brokers, borrowers, and intermediaries.
  • Strong credit and analytical skills with familiarity in Argus, Excel modeling, and CRE cash flow underwriting.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or relevant graduate degree preferred.

Compensation:

$250,000 - $350,000 base salary + performance bonus.
