About the Role

The Company is seeking a Chief Medical Officer (CMO) for its Community Plan in Idaho. The CMO will be responsible for driving clinical excellence in line with state regulatory requirements and community health priorities. This role involves close partnership with local health plan leaders and enterprise clinical operations to oversee quality improvement, inpatient and outpatient utilization, affordability, growth, regulatory compliance, and health system transformation. The CMO will also work with the provider network team to develop strong partnerships with local healthcare systems and providers. Key responsibilities include maintaining a strong knowledge of government mandates, engaging with external constituents, and leading efforts to identify and close gaps in health outcomes. The CMO will be the outward face to state regulators and is expected to provide clinical thought leadership. Candidates for the CMO position must be Idaho-licensed physicians with active and unrestricted status, Board Certified in an ABMS or AOBMS specialty, and have at least 5 years of clinical practice experience. A solid background in quality management, managed care, and Medicaid/Medicare is essential. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the LTSS population, current medical practices, and a proven track record of leadership in a highly matrixed organization. Experience in health equity work and excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills are required. The CMO should be a strategic thinker, a solid team player, and have the ability to develop and maintain relationships with network and community physicians. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and the ability to manage multiple tasks with attention to detail are also necessary.
