The Company is seeking a Chief Intellectual Property Counsel (CIPC) to lead and oversee all aspects of intellectual property protection. The CIPC will be responsible for developing and implementing patent strategy, prosecution, and enforcement, as well as managing IP-related litigation, publication review, due diligence, and portfolio management. This senior leadership role requires a candidate with a minimum of 15 years of intellectual property experience, a strong background in patent law, and a proven track record in handling complex IP challenges. The successful candidate will also have broad senior-level in-house legal experience in the biotechnology and/or pharmaceutical industries, including significant patent litigation and experience with a large and complex IP portfolio. The ideal candidate for the CIPC position at the company will have a JD with admission to at least one state bar in good standing, registration to practice before the USPTO and a bachelor’s degree in the life sciences. An advanced science degree, particularly a PhD, in biology, biochemistry, or chemistry, is strongly preferred, along with familiarity with oligonucleotide-based therapeutics. The role involves working in partnership with other senior leaders to align IP strategy with the company's overall strategic directives and managing a team of experienced patent professionals. The CIPC will be a key player in driving the company's IP strategy and must be adept at managing people and teams in a high-volume, dynamic work environment.
