About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chair for its Department of Physical Therapy. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing leadership to the faculty, continuously improving the education of Doctor of Physical Therapy students, and advancing the department's scholarship. This role involves overseeing the department's strategic plan, operations, and budget, as well as ensuring compliance with accreditation requirements. The Chair will also be involved in teaching, conducting research, and supporting the professional development of faculty and staff. A collaborative leadership style, experience in clinical business administration, and a strong academic background in physical therapy are preferred. Applicants for the Chair position at the company's Department of Physical Therapy must have an earned academic doctoral degree, be eligible for physical therapy licensure in North Carolina, and have a minimum of six years of full-time higher education experience, with at least three years as core faculty in a CAPTE accredited physical therapist education program. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of effective leadership, strategic planning, and a strong commitment to the values of the department and the college. Experience with CAPTE accreditation procedures, academic governance, and a history of substantial scholarly productivity are also highly valued. The role requires the ability to make sound decisions, negotiate complex issues, and maintain professional relationships, as well as a dedication to the advancement of the field of physical therapy through teaching, research, and service.
