This role entails overseeing all financial operations, providing strategic financial guidance, and ensuring the long-term financial sustainability of their organization. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in nonprofit accounting, strong audit experience, and a deep understanding of grants management. The CFO will be responsible for leading the financial strategy, planning, and analysis while ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements. Focus: Develop and implement financial strategies, plans, and budgets that align with the organization’s goals and objectives. Oversee all financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting to the CEO, Board of Directors, and relevant stakeholders. Lead the annual audit process and ensure compliance with all regulatory and legal requirements. Manage the organization’s grants and ensure proper tracking, reporting, and compliance with grant requirements. Provide strategic financial analysis and recommendations to support decision-making processes. Supervise and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. Collaborate with other senior leaders to support organizational growth and sustainability. Develop and maintain effective relationships with external stakeholders, including auditors, donors, and financial institutions. Skill Set: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or MBA preferred. Minimum of 10 years of experience in financial management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role within a nonprofit organization. Strong knowledge of nonprofit accounting principles, regulations, and best practices. Proven experience in managing audits and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Extensive experience in grants management, including tracking, reporting, and compliance. Excellent strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Strong leadership and team management abilities. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
