Business Analyst Intern - Command Center Analytics - R2990-6334 at Blue Cross of Idaho in Meridian, Idaho, United States Job Description Blue Cross of Idaho is seeking a Business Analyst Intern (BA) to join our Command Center Analytics team within Enterprise Business Operations. This internship is slated for Summer 2025, which is generally a May-August timeframe. This opportunity will allow an intern to gain an understanding of business analytics and reporting within health insurance business operations. This paid internship will be located onsite at our corporate headquarters in Meridian, Idaho. Estimated hours per week: 40 hours/week. What we are looking for in an intern: Currently enrolled in a college or university, preferably a junior or senior standing students Analytical - ability to report, analyze and, make observations about data/processes Organization - ability to multi-task and manage time with multiple priorities Inquisitiveness - not afraid to ask questions or attempt to figure things out. Able to research and work cross-departmentally to fact find and document Communications - verbal and written skills suitable to a business environment. Interpersonal skills will be important as gathering requirements and process mapping involves uncovering known and unknown details from our business partners. The BA may need to add direction and support in helping the business better understand requests Negotiation - requirements gathering may involve negotiation to reconcile technical options with the business need Independence - can work under moderate supervision; is self-motivated Strategic thinking and business acumen MS Office (Outlook, Excel, and Word); familiarity with Visio is helpful User Acceptance Testing (UAT) experience is beneficial, but not required Familiarity and/or exposure to SQL, Jira (or other project management tracking tool), Tableau (or similar such as Power BI, etc.) is also useful, but not required What you will learn on this internship: This position will work side-by-side with our team of Business Analysts to learn and work with SQL, Tableau, Excel and JIRA. They will have an opportunity to assist the team members and learn the fundamentals of Business Reporting and Analytics - from requirements gathering and SQL query writing to creating, updating and publishing reports in Tableau. The intern will take part in all of our Agile ceremonies and processes. Tasks and responsibilities will include but are not limited to: Track and facilitate User Acceptance Testing of queries and reports Refresh, populate and publish Tableau reports for data discussions, Monthly Business Reviews and meetings Assist with, track and document business requirements, report updates and miscellaneous data requests Working on data quality projects Other reporting, data and analysis tasks as they arise Reasonable accommodations To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
