About the Company : We are seeking a skilled and reliable General Building Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the upkeep, repair, and general maintenance of building systems, ensuring the facility remains in optimal working condition. This role requires expertise in areas such as plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general building infrastructure.

About the Role : Inspecting and Maintaining Systems: Regularly inspect building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc.) to identify potential issues and ensure optimal functionality. Performing Repairs: Conduct routine and emergency repairs, including plumbing leaks, electrical issues, HVAC malfunctions, and general building damage. Preventative Maintenance: Implement preventative measures to minimize future maintenance issues, such as sealing roofs, maintaining equipment, and ensuring safety systems are operational. Responding to Tenant/Occupant Requests: Address maintenance requests from tenants or building occupants in a timely and efficient manner. General Maintenance Tasks: Perform a variety of maintenance tasks, including painting, flooring repair, carpentry, plastering, drywall repair, and window washing. Safety Checks: Ensure the safety of building occupants by performing regular safety checks and maintaining fire alarms, carbon monoxide detectors, and other safety systems. Inventory Management: Maintain an inventory of cleaning and repair supplies, ensuring the necessary materials are readily available. Record Keeping: Keep accurate records of inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities. Working with Contractors: Coordinate with external contractors for specialized repairs and maintenance projects as needed.

Qualifications :

  • Proven experience as a maintenance technician, facilities technician, or similar role.
  • Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to use a variety of hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Basic carpentry, painting, and general repair skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Physical stamina to perform manual labor and lift heavy objects when necessary.

Education & Experience :

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Certification or training in maintenance-related fields (HVAC, electrical, plumbing) is a plus.
  • Prior experience in building maintenance or a related field preferred.

Work Conditions : Work may involve exposure to varying weather conditions and potentially hazardous environments. May require occasional evening, weekend, or on-call shifts for emergency repairs.
