Job Overview:

• Hours: Full-time
• Compensation: Based on experience

Responsibilities:

• Utilizespecialized hardware, specialized software programs, Braille embosser, scanners, andother related equipment for the purpose of converting print into medium
• Transcribe college prep courses at a High School level
• Assiststudents individually or in groups with the instruction in Braille and operation of theBraillewriter
• Preparea wide variety of tactile aids such as maps, models, diagrams, and other media withraised line drawings, diagrams, and charts to accompany text, tests, and other materials for thepurpose of assisting students in participating academically in their classrooms

Requirements:

• Experience with the Nemeth Code
• Skilled in creating complex tactile graphics for rigorous academic classes
• Possession of a Library of Congress Certificate demonstrating efficiency as a Braille Transcriber, or will obtain within one year of hire
