Job Description
As a member of the UBI team, this position is responsible for the development and maintenance of the bank's portfolio of agricultural loan accounts. The position is responsible for making loans to individuals, partnerships, cooperatives, and corporations engaged in agricultural production. Some commercial loans may also be required. Analyzing moderately complex credits, loan applications, audits loan files, services existing loans, FSA Guaranteed Loans, and counseling customers in an effort to reduce delinquencies and meet departmental goals for increasing loan volume. Aggressively selling and promoting all bank services in such a way as to enhance bank earnings and the bank's image within the community.
EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor of Science or Arts degree with a major in agriculture or related field; or 2 - 4 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports, professional journals, and governmental regulations.
Strong writing skills to compose moderately complex correspondence and reports.
Strong verbal skills to effectively present information to customers, employees and top managers in one-on-one and small group situations.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to calculate amounts such as interest, discounts, and percentages and interpret complex financial reports.
REASONING ABILITY:
Comprehend and understand bank operations, policies (manuals) and procedures.
Independent judgment to recognize and maintain confidential information.
Understand and apply standard agricultural production and marketing concepts and principles.
Recognize and resolve a wide variety of practical problems involving common sense judgment, tact, and on-the-spot decisions.
OTHER SKILLS:
Problem-solving skills to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Interpersonal skills to deal effectively with customers, employees, and top managers.
Organizational skills to prioritize responsibilities and meet deadlines in an orderly, productive manner.

Computer skills in word processing, spreadsheet and database software to generate correspondence and reports.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Credit insurance license from the State of Iowa.

Monday - Friday: 8:00am - 5:00pm
