This adjunct faculty position in the Department of Molecular, Cellular, and Biomedical Sciences (MCBS) is responsible for teaching BMS 657 – Blood Banking Laboratory during the academic term. The course is a laboratory-based component of the department’s undergraduate medical laboratory sciences curriculum and provides hands-on training in immunohematology, including blood typing, crossmatching, antibody detection, and transfusion practices. The adjunct instructor will facilitate laboratory sessions, evaluate student competency, and ensure instruction aligns with course and program learning outcomes. This is a part-time, non-essential position reporting to the department chair. Duties/Responsibilities include: Instruction and Course Delivery (50%) - Prepare and conduct laboratory sessions based on the established syllabus and course objectives, demonstrate and supervise laboratory techniques in blood banking and transfusion medicine, maintain a safe and compliant laboratory environment in accordance with institutional and regulatory standards; Student Assessment (25%) - Develop and assess practical laboratory exercises and evaluations, grade laboratory reports, quizzes, and performance-based competencies, maintain accurate and timely records of student achievement; Student Support and Communication (15%) - Provide guidance and support to students during and outside of scheduled lab times, communicate course policies, expectations, and feedback clearly and effectively; Course Coordination (10%) - Coordinate with faculty and staff to align laboratory content with lecture components and program standards, submit grades, attendance records, and required course documentation in a timely manner.
